Sushil Chauhan was born in May 1977 in Nairobi, Kenya. He is a 3rd generation Kenyan with roots in his great nation since 1892. The allure of being in the wild & studying African Wildlife has always and constantly lurked behind his mind. Later he pursued an education in Tourism as a way to get closer to his passion by becoming a safari & travel consultant.

He is an affiliate of KPSGA (Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association) - currently at Silver Level & preparing for Gold level this year. He is also a member of FGASA (Field Guides Association of South Africa with the following qualifications:

Field Guide NL 1 (FGASA)

Back-up Trails Guide (FGASA)

Advanced Rifle Handling (FGASA)

Tracker Level 2 (CYBER TRACKER)

During his long stay in South Africa, he volunteered for Predator Research in Lydenberg – Ingwe Leopard Project) where he had firsthand experience with leopard & brown hyena capture, rescue & research/data input.

Since childhood, Sushil has had a deep love for all flora & fauna on earth and a lust for travel to all the wild places that are home to these marvelous creatures. His fascination with nature has allowed him to travel to most of the National Parks & Reserves in East Africa, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka & India. I have also volunteered at various wildlife based organizations & participated in many wildlife photographic exhibitions being a very keen nature photographer.

The “Big Cats” hold a special place in his heart but he equally adores all the diversity of flora & fauna of the sorld. He feels closer to God when he is with nature and has a deep sense for conserving these natural treasures that are disappearing from our planet at an alarming rate. He has always been a keen photographer since childhood but got serious when he turned 18 and his grandfather gave him a Pentax SLR camera. He was later introduced to the digital world & bought his first DSLR in 2006. Currently he is using Nikon equipment & considers himself an amateur photographer aiming to turn pro in the near future.
